Trilogy Workshop: Holistic HR Approaches to Gen Z
Envisioning the Future of developing strong, resilient Human Resources for sustainable, future-proof businesses in the era of Generation Z
Precious Island partnered with Tri Hita Karana Foundation to develop a trilogy of workshop focusing on preparing and adapting HR managements in Bali in the new era of Generation Z. This paid workshop is set to be held in 2025 and possibly beyond depending on the necessity and demand from our corporate partners in Bali.
The Challenge
Gen Z in Indonesia, including Bali, faces several challenges in the workplace, such as financial insecurity with many living paycheck-to-paycheck, and a strong desire for work-life balance, often prioritizing personal beliefs over job assignments. Mental health issues are prevalent, with a significant portion experiencing frequent stress which resulted in less than desirable attitude toward clients and employer. Additionally, there is a growing concern for environmental sustainability, influencing their career choices, and economic uncertainty remains a constant worry, affecting their outlook on future financial stability.
Our Solution
To address the challenges faced by Gen Z in Bali and Indonesia, we need to gather more specific data from both employers and the Gen Z workforce. This will help us understand their unique needs and perspectives better. Once we have this data, we can collaborate with hotel partners to create tailored programs that address these challenges. These programs could focus on financial literacy, mental health support, work-life balance initiatives, sustainability practices, and career development opportunities. By working together, we can create a more supportive and engaging work environment for Gen Z.
Participate in the Survey
In order to gain more insight from employer’s perspective toward Gen Z in their workforce, we humbly invite you to participate in the following survey if you are:
- A business owner based in Bali
- An HR manager, staff, or any other roles who might be involved in the hiring, training, and leadership process of an organization based in Bali
- An executive of an organization based in Bali
Given the unique challenges that Gen Z faces in Bali and Indonesia, there is a significant opportunity for employers, especially in the hospitality industry, to create a supportive and engaging work environment. By gathering specific data from both Gen Z employees and employers, we can develop targeted programs in collaboration with hotel partners. These programs can address financial literacy, mental health support, work-life balance, sustainability practices, and career development. Such initiatives not only enhance the well-being and productivity of Gen Z workers but also position hotels as employers of choice in an increasingly competitive market. Investing in these solutions creates a future-proof, resilient workforce, ultimately leading to sustainable business growth and success in the era of Gen Z.
Next Phase
Moving into the future, we will be looking forward to work with business entities in Bali who are keen into incorporating more Gen Z in their workforce in a sustainable, productive manner that could benefit all parties involved. The data we obtained during the survey and from the participants of the program will further hone our understanding of teamwork across generations of workers, with the cultural context of Indonesia, and specifically Bali.
